ŠKODA Slovakia Motorsport will be presented at the legendary Tatra Rally

  • A new team of ŠKODA Slovakia Motorsport with championship ambitions at the Rally Tatry
  • Crew Martin Koči / Radovan Mozler Jr. after the first race of the Slovak Rally Championship series in 2018 with 25 points

The 45th Rallye Tatra competition, which is the second part of the Slovak Rally Championship series in the rally 2018, will kick off this Friday at Poprad. Among the 75 crews will be the ŠKODA Slovakia Motorsport team with driver Martin Koči and co-driver Radovan Mozner Jr. The crew of the new ŠKODA FABIA R5 team has the highest ambitions this season and will race to get the most points in the rally series of the Slovak Rally Championship.

ZoFrom the Slovak racers who started at the Rally Prešov, the first event of the Slovak Rally Championship 2018, Martin Koči won the best standing when he finished second. He won a great 25 points in the championship title. This weekend, under Tatras, a 318 km track with 8 stages with 95 km lenght, is waiting for the racers. Rallye Tatry will officially kick off at 17:15 on Friday at the St. Egidius square in Poprad and on the same day the drivers will pass the first stage on the city circuit in Poprad - with the start at 21:30 h.

Martin Koči - a bearer of family tradition and achievements
Martin comes from a well-known racing family. His father Michal Koči and his uncle Peter Koči have been involved in motor sport since 1983 and have built the most successful team in the history of the Slovak rally sport. Martin, already at the age of 6, sat behing the steering wheel of a 125 ccm Havel buggy, and as a 9-year-old he managed to move to a higher engine cubic capacity of 250. In his very first season of the JWRC in 2013 he finished sixth. A year later, in the same championship, he was standing on the podium with the bronze medal, and also won the third place in the WRC3. In 2016 he became junior runner-up of the JWRC and in the WRC3 he finished fourth. He was awarded a Title of Master of the Czech Republic in class 5 and in the category 2WD. Last year, Martin Koči and co-driver Filip Schovánek became Champions of Slovakia in Class 2 when they premiered on ŠKODA FABIA R5 car.
